Ice Cream for a Good Cause!

Okay, so it's pretty hard to find anyone who requires a compelling reason to eat amazing Ben & Jerry's ice cream on a balmy June evening. But in case you do, we'd just like you to know that the proceeds from the ice cream you purchase tomorrow (Monday, June 9th) evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. will pay for dental work for our BCC FRAC kitties!

Fill the Forester for Ferals this Saturday!

Come on over and help us Fill the Forester for Ferals at Premier Subaru this Saturday, December, 7! The Greater New Haven Cat Project and BCC are partnering for this ASPCA-sponsored event, which aims to raise food and funds for feral cats in our area, as well as draw local and statewide attention to the plight of homeless cats. Learn more about GNHCP and BCC's feral cat support programs and meet Donna Velardi, Certified Animal Massage Therapist and Animal Communicator, who will be giving 5-minute readings during the event. With your help and support, it will be a great day for cats in need!

Bingomania! to Benefit BCC

The Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus hosts a monthly Bingomania! at the Annex Club at 554 Woodward Avenue in New Haven, just off I-95. We hope you will join us for a hilariously unique evening of entertainment where you’ll play Bingo for cash prizes as hostess Joan Crawford entertains you with silly contests, fun giveaways and of course, the naughtiest jokes ever told!

Each month has a different theme and many come in costume to try and win our costume contest. No costumes are necessary— just come and enjoy the creativity of others! Your $20 admission includes all of your game cards for the twelve regular games of Bingo. Each regular game has a cash prize of $100 and the final regular game of the night has a cash prize of $200! We also offer three optional Special Games. You can play a Special Game for just $1 per sheet and each Special Game pays a 50/50 cash prize up to $400! You have the chance to win up to $2,500 in Bingo cash prizes each month at Bingomania!

BCC will be there collecting donations for cat food and supplies.

3rd Annual POURS FOR PAWS!

Pours for Paws is back! Join us on September 12, 2012 at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven for this fantastic wine tasting! There will be heavy hors d'oeuvres (favorites include the penne alla vodka, clams casino, and the infamous bruschetta bar!) and tons of wines to sample from all over the world. Music will be played by the Yale Symphony Orchestra Group. Doors open at 6:30pm – be there on time to enjoy two full hours of food and drink!

Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Branford Compassion Club or the Greater New Haven Cat Project (GNHCP). Tickets are $45/person. Please write checks out to the GNHCP.

15th Anniversary Charity Gala

Branford Compassion Club, a local feline rescue organization, is celebrating its 15th anniversary of service to the shoreline community this year with a very special charity gala at the James Blackstone Library in Branford on Sunday, May 20th 2012 from 5:30-8:30PM. The evening will include a buffet dinner catered by Grace’s Kitchen, wine, hors d’oeuvres from SBC Restaurant, desserts from Lucibello’s Bakery, live music by Danny D, and an exciting silent auction.

 The cost is $50/person. Reservations may be made now through May 12th by emailing bccspecialevents32@gmail.com. Please include your name, phone number, and number of people in your party; you will receive a reply with instructions for rendering payment. Come enjoy a festive evening in the company of other animal lovers. This event is sure to be the cat’s meow!

Bella Notte Pawsta Dinner

Come and experience a great evening – with a delicious Italian dinner provided by Branford Compassion Club members and the satisfaction of knowing you are helping homeless, abandoned, and feral cats.

The Bella Notte Pawsta Dinner will be held Saturday, March 10th, from 6pm to 8:30pm at St. There’s Church Hall, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford, CT.

The all-you-can-eat pasta & meatballs dinner includes: Antipasto salad, Italian Bread, Dessert, Soda and Coffee. Wine will also be available for a donation of $4 per glass.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children (under 12) and can be purchased at the door or in advance at Branford Compassion Club Feline Rescue & Adoption Center (2037 Foxon Rd, North Branford) during public hours on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

BCC's Annual Holiday Breakfast

It’s time again for the Branford Compassion Club’s Famous Holiday Breakfast Buffet!  The annual breakfast will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 8am – 12pm at St Therese’s Church Hall located at 102 Leetes Island Road in Branford.  Please join BCC for a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, hot oatmeal, Danishes, bagels, muffins, fruit, juice and coffee. 

Tickets are $9 for adults and $4 for children and will be available at the door.  Homemade cookies and holiday gift baskets will also be available for purchase.

All proceeds help to provide food, shelter and veterinary care for the cats at Branford Compassion Club Feline Rescue & Adoption Center. 

FUNDRAISER: Harvest Moon Buffet Sponsored by Nataz Restaurant

When: Tuesday November 1, 2011 from 6pm – 9pm
Where: Nataz Restaurant located at 2025 Foxon Rd, North Branford, CT
Nataz Restaurant is hosting the Harvest Moon Buffet Dinner.  Tickets are currently on sale for $25 each.  The buffet will include three or more main dishes, salad, bread, soda, coffee, and dessert.  Wine will be provided by the Branford Compassion Club for a donation of $4 per glass.

Reminder: Compassionate Food Drive to Save the Ferals

Branford Compassion Club is in great need of canned and dry cat food for feral cats. On Saturday, October 15, 2011, Branford Compassion Club will be holding a fall food drive to coincide with National Feral Cat Day observed on October 16, 2011 to promote compassion for cats coast to coast. Many feline rescue groups across the country will be holding special events and fundraisers in observance of the day.
Donations of unopened canned and dry cat food can be dropped off at the Branford Compassion Club Feline Rescue and Adoption Center located at 2037 Foxon Road in North Branford on Saturday, October 15th between 11am and 3pm.

Pours for Paws: A Recap

We had a wonderful time at Pours for Paws this year! There were ten tables to visit for wine sampling (and Van Gogh vodka sampling, too!). We enjoyed fruity white wines like the Folonari Moscato at Table #4 and silky reds like the Parlay Bookmaker Cabernet Sauvignon at Table #3.  At table #8 we enjoyed Russo Limoncello and Carpene Malvolti Prosecco paired together… yum!

Animal Awareness Day 2011

Animal Awareness Day is October 2, 2011 from 11am - 5pm on the Branford Green! Animal Awareness Day will be presented by the Branford Compassion Club and the Daniel Cosgrove Animal Shelter.

Activities will include: Dog Walk (11am, register to walk at the Branford Animal Shelter), Blessing of the Animals by the Branford Clergy Association (1pm), Agway's Ugliest Dog in CT Contest, Ask the Trainer Booth, "Be Kind to Animals" art contest for kids, live music, food, activities for children, and animal rescue groups and vendors!
