Animal Awareness Day 2010

Hey folks, it's that time of year again! Animal Awareness Day! This year the BCC is pairing up with our local shelter (Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter of Branford, CT) to get this great party into full swing! Animals are welcome to this fun get together on the Branford Green! It will begin with a walk from the community house to the green. There will be a Blessing of the Animals, food and craft vendors, our "Strut the Mutt" dog parade, and of course plenty of animals for adoption!

So what does this madhouse of fun cost you ask? NOTHING! It's free! Just come and be ready to have a great time with the WHOLE family.  Join us on October 3rd, 2010, 11AM to 5PM! Can't wait to see you there!

International Homeless Animals' Day 8/19/10

Today is International Homeless Animals' Day! International Homeless Animals' Day is not only an opportunity to pay homage to creatures whose lives we have responsible dominion over, it is a chance to make a change. Come visit is us at APC and give one of our little loves a good furever home!
International Homeless Animals' Day is a purr...fect opportunity to begin volunteering your time as these animals need your love and attention. Our Volunteers bring happiness to the animals and socially prepare them for their journeys to their loving furever homes.
International Homeless Animals' Day may be a solemn day of remembrance for the millions of animals that die each year due to pet overpopulation, but it is also a day of hope and inspiration. There is never a better time than the present to create positive change for unwanted animals. Together, we make a difference!

Featured Adoptables: Maya & Juno

Today at the BCC we have two wonderful female tiger kittens. They are on the prowl for a loving forever home, preferably together, but if they must, they will go their separate ways.
Maya (white toes) and Juno (white feet) had a very rough start in life.  They were orphaned at four weeks and went without food for a few days before they were rescued. When they were rescued, they were sick and starving. They have since recovered with lots of tender loving care.
Maya and Juno are extremely friendly lap kittens and are now in top health. They love to play with toy mice, puff balls, and paper dinner napkins. When they run laps, they have thundering feet. They play together, groom each other, and are loving sisters who want to find a furever home together.
Maya and Juno have both been spayed, fully vet checked, tested and fully immunized. If you are interested in adopting these beauties and are in the Connecticut area, e-mail us at contact_us@branfordcompassionclub.org or bcc_recruit@yahoo.com.

Featured Adoptables: Noah

I'm really sweet, I promise.

Today we would like you to meet Noah.

Noah is a wonderful cat who has been with the BCC for several months. His foster mom hates to think of letting him go but knows Noah needs his wonderful furever home.

Noah was found in a feral colony. I immediately fell in love with him and his friendly manner, and after some time I decided to take him from home. So I brought him to be vetted.  It was only then I learned that he he has FIV.

He does not have to take medication for FIV and can live a long and healthy life.  He is very lovable. Noah is between 3-5 years old. He has beautiful light blue eyes and white long hair. When we first got him his underbelly was so tightly matted he had to be shaved, but because the knots were hurting him, he didn't mind at all. He loves to be brushed whenever possible. Because I am a foster mom for BCC, Noah will not be able to stay with me. He desperately needs a furever loving home to live out his years.

Because of Noah's condition, he must remain indoors.  He can be in a single cat home or a household with other FIV cats. If anyone would love to give Noah a forever home, please let us know. If you would like, drop us an email at contact_us@branfordcompassionclub.org or bcc _recruit@yahoo.com. We will have someone contact you upon receipt.

*BCC does not do nationwide adoptions.

We're the BCC

What better day to introduce our wonderful organization to the blogging world than World Cat Day!

We're the Branford Compassion Club and we dedicate everything we can to homeless felines!

If you live in the Branford area, you may have seen us around town, adopting kittens at All Pet's Club, helping you and your neighbors rescue/trap ferals, fundraising for our cause, or any number of other cat-related activities we participate in.

This blog will be a chronicle of things we do, events we hold, and cats and kittens that need or have found homes! We hope you will take the journey with us! Maybe you will find that you love it so much you would like to volunteer with us!

For details on how to join our wonderfully caring group, visit our website or our Facebook page! Thanks for reading!
